David Samuel — Founder, East River Wellness
In 2016, I lost my brother and my uncle — months apart — to colon cancer. It was the kind of grief that forces you to confront everything: how fragile life is, and how much our health matters. It was also what led me to herbs.
I’d always believed in natural healing, but after that loss I went deep — years of research, learning from teachers like Dr. Sebi and Rosemary Gladstar, and becoming a certified herbalist, making capsules for friends and family. What started as grief became a calling: helping people care for their bodies early, with plants and honest ingredients.
East River Wellness is named for the river I’ve lived by most of my life here in New York City. The E&R in our logo carries two meanings: Emergency Room — where I’ve spent my career in healthcare — and Emergence & Revival, the belief that healing should be accessible to everyone.
Every product is hand crafted with love and a deep respect for the power of nature. This company is for my brother, my uncle, and everyone who deserves a chance to heal.
